Hocking College Natural Resources Management

Want to work outside? Looking for a program to prepare you for a wide variety of positions in natural resources? Explore Recreation and Wildlife Management.

The Program
Prepare for a career in recreation and wildlife management. Gain a strong background in environmental practices and concepts. Learn applied field practices. A broad base of concepts and skills are to be found in this technology.

Choose electives to tailor the program to meet your needs, or choose from one of five major areas of specialization:

Hocking College Natural Resources Management Wildlife Management and Wildlife Sciences Wildlife Management / Wildlife Sciences
Prepare to be a park ranger, game protector, fish and wildlife conservation aide, fish hatchery technician, and soil conservation technician.
Hocking College Natural Resources Management Fish Management and Aquaculture Fish Management and Aquaculture
Train to work in a fishery, in both natural and production settings. Grads work as fish hatchery technicians, fish conservation aides, biological technicians, pond technicians and fish culturists.
Hocking College Natural Resources Management Interpretive Services Interpretive Services
Bring information "to life" working with the pubic at parks, nature centers, and outdoor education centers as park rangers, naturalists, nature center interpreters and living history interpreters.
Hocking College Natural Resources Management Ranger Services Ranger Services
Prepare for emergency response positions with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Park Service, and with state and local recreation areas.

Learn By Doing
Let our 1600 acres become your classroom. Hike in the woods to measure a tree while collecting data for a lab report or dress in costume and recreate 19th century Southeastern Ohio at Robbins Crossing, our campus living history lab. Get your feet wet and try out a variety of experiences first hand. You'll be a prepared generalist to enter the job market!
